Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory located on Long Island, New York, is presently seeking a research technician for an immediate position in preclinical imaging.
The laboratory’s new Experimental Therapeutics initiative is a multidisciplinary effort that aims to discover new cancer treatments and diagnostics and to rapidly translate those findings to the clinic. Non-invasive imaging is a key component of this initiative.
The successful candidate will have substantial experience working with mice, including handling, dosing (tail vein and ip injection) and necropsy. Additional experience with any non-invasive imaging modality, specifically a radionuclide imaging technique, would be highly beneficial. Meticulous record keeping and familiarity with common analytical computer programs also required. Responsibilities will include the operation of state-of-the-art preclinical imaging instruments and image analysis software. Also, receiving, handling and administering gamma and positron emitting radioisotopes for imaging. The successful candidate will possess excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills. Further, a willingness to work effectively and productively in a team-oriented environment with the ability to show initiative and maintain a strong sense of integrity and confidentiality.
A BS degree in a relevant discipline is required. Work location will be primarily at CSHL Woodbury Genome Research Center.
