Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Magnet recognized by the American Nurse Credentialing Center, is seeking experienced Central Sterile Processing Technicians at both our New Brunswick and Somerset locations.
Central Sterile Processing (CSP) Technicians are responsible for proper handling and processing of equipment, instrumentation and supplies necessary to perform procedures in the Operating Room. S/he correlates operative procedures for instrumentation & equipment. As a technical professional, the CSP Tech understands and applies the principles and the different methods of sterilization. The Central Sterile Processing Technician implements decontamination procedures per regulatory agencies guidelines and hospital policies and procedures. S/he demonstrates ability to properly identify, care for and handle the operating room instruments and equipment according to the manufacturers’ written instructions and hospital policy. In addition, the CSP Tech demonstrates proper handling and disposal of clean waste and regulated medical waste including sharps, needles etc. S/he also demonstrates knowledge of principles of sterile technique, universal precautions, fire, safety and disaster protocols, body mechanics and Hazcom.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
2 years of CSPD experience.
5 years of CRCST experience in a hospital setting or Same Day Surgery Center is preferred.
Current National Sterile Processing Certification.
State of New Jersey License. ARRT CT highly preferred.
