This position provides direct support to ICU patients by working closely with RNs, physicians, and other care providers. Some of the primary duties include:
Accurately interprets cardiac rhythms an reports changes to RN
Assists the patient with the activities of daily living, i.e. bathing, feeding ambulating, surgical preps, etc.
Provides safe and timely transport of patients as assigned.
Performs specimen collection in accordance with hospital policy including correct patient identification and specimen labeling.
Accurately documents in a timely manner :
Ensures the medical record is neat and organized and all forms have accurate patient identification noted on every page of the medical record.
Protects PHI and patient confidentiality, including discarding of extra strips in the appropriate manner.
