The Sterile Processing Technician will accurately perform quality control checks on instruments and equipment. Is responsible for procuring and charging on all rental equipment and special devices. Responsible for making rounds Â to assure equipment usage is properly charged to avoid lost charges. Accurately maintains all sterile or clean supplies and issues same to nursing units on request. The Technician is able to understand difference in flashing techniques and is able to demonstrate same. Ability to decontaminate, assemble and wrap instruments and trays for sterilization. Assembles a wide variety of instrument sets ensuring accuracy, including listing missing instruments and signing the instrument set list according to protocol, as assigned. Utilizes/refers to surgeon preference cards when setting up trays. Must demonstrateÂ the ability to pull cases and prioritize instrumentation needs based on the surgery schedule.
