Develop, implement and maintain a quality management system (QMS) for all aspects of laboratory practice to comply with the legal requirements of CMS (CLIA), the standards of accreditation bodies including CAP, AABB, Pennsylvania DOH, TJC guidelines, standards and the requirements of clinical governance.
Develop, implement and review Laboratory Administration policies and procedures. Ensure consistency with established policies and procedures.
Report to the laboratory management on the functioning and effectiveness of the quality management system.
Chair the Performance Improvement (PI) Committee.
Instrumental in the development of a culture of quality and critical review within the laboratory. To
Develop, facilitate and co-ordinate the audit of laboratory processes and to be responsible for the dissemination of information relating to quality to all laboratory staff
Be responsible for the co-ordination of training, development and competency assessment of staff within the laboratory and for those from other areas under laboratory licensure.
Develop, implement and document activities relating to the QA program to maintain and improve the lab’s QA.
Serve as a liaison for laboratory guidance external to the laboratory and the assistance with the guidance of enterprise quality management.
