At the administrative direction of the Director / Operations Supervisor, and the clinical direction of the Radiologist/ Team Leader, perform ultrasound examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and able to apply the prescribed ultrasonography for medical diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas as needed including stocking rooms, checking expirations, quality assurance, etc. RDMS certification or eligibility is required. The flexibility to cross train in other Radiology modalities is preferred based upon departmental staffing needs.
Registered or certified Radiologic Technologist licensed to practice in the State of Vermont preferred. On the job training will be performed under the supervision of a Radiologist and RDMS Certified Sonographer. Employees who are cross-trained in more than one DI modality are responsible for all aspects of the job descriptions in each separate modality. Competencies in each modality must be kept at adequate levels of performance for each area, and necessary documentation, including certification renewals, must take place on a yearly basis.
ARRT and/or ARDMS certified or eligibility of ARDMS certification requirements met.
Approved / certified Ultrasound program with potential for RDMS credentialing preferred. On the job training: one year to become a proficient trained sonographer.
