Histology Supervisor

We are an independent pathology lab co-owned by 2 AP/CP board certified pathologists. Our lab provides an employee-friendly working environment where you will find supportive co-workers. Our focus is to provide excellent, efficient and timely patient care. We currently employ 3 histotechnicians, 1 cytotechnologist, 3 pathology assistants /grossing technicians, 1 laboratory assistant, 2 billing staff, 2 transcriptionists, 6 couriers and an office manager.

The position is for a working histology supervisor with strong technical skills and excellent work ethic with a commitment to maintaining our high quality. The individual must be able to engage the histotechnicians and must possess strong leadership and organizational skills. The supervisor will assist in embedding, cutting, IHC and special staining along with 2-3 other histotechs, who he/she will be supervising. Specimens are predominantly skins but there are also a wide range of other types of specimens that we process, including GIs, Gyn and prostate biopsies. We also provide a mobile frozen section service approximately 1-2 times/month. We currently have 2 Leica Bonds and a library of over 100 IHC antibodies. Special stains are manually performed.

Management responsibilities will include histology staff personnel management, scheduling, inventory maintenance, and maintaining quality control/quality assurance in the lab. He/she will work closely with the pathologists and lab director to achieve these goals.
