| General Summary: A non-exempt medical office position that prepares patients for and conducts EEG, NCV and EMG studies used for diagnosis and treatment.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Adheres to and supports the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources.
- Adheres to the Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and the Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement.
- Demonstrates support for the Tenet Corporate Compliance Program by being knowledgeable of compliance responsibilities as expressed in the Code of Conduct; adhering to federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and corporate policies and procedures policies that affect his/her specific job functions/responsibilities; and reporting compliance issues/concerns in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Prepare room and equipment for NCS/EMG and assist physician.
- Prepare patient by gathering medical history and necessary information, able to explain testing.
- Perform various neurology studies, including NCS/EMG/EEG
- Provide instructions to patients regarding procedures.
- Complete necessary documentation using HER on a daily basis
- Perform clerical duties to include pertinent documentation, filing, and delivering of testing to be read.
- Assist with auditing, billing and coding as requested
- Inventory, order and maintain all departmental supplies at defined inventory levels.
- Assist with other office functions as requested
Qualifications:
Education: High school graduation and completion of a training course or on-the-job training.
Certification: Current R. EEGT certification through ABRET per state requirement. CPR Certification through AHA.
Experience: Work requires a level knowledge of patient care methods, procedures and techniques. One year of experience performing EEG/NCV/EMG experience preferred.
