WittKieffer is pleased to collaborate with Arkansas Children's Health System as they seek an Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer who has a passion for pediatric healthcare, and is dynamic and well-versed in healthcare leadership. This is a unique opportunity at the only pediatric healthcare system in the state of Arkansas, which is experiencing tremendous growth, and is financially strong. Arkansas Children's is the only healthcare system in the state solely dedicated to caring for Arkansas' 710,000 children, giving the organization a unique ability to shape the landscape of pediatric care in Arkansas, and transform the health of children throughout the region. The private, non-profit organization includes two pediatric hospitals, Arkansas Children's Hospital (ACH), a 336-bed, Magnet-recognized facility, and Arkansas Children's Northwest (ACNW), a 24-bed inpatient unit and the only pediatric hospital in the growing Northwest region of the state. The entity also includes a pediatric research institute and USDA nutrition center, a philanthropic foundation, a nursery alliance, statewide clinics, and many education and outreach programs. Arkansas Children's recently developed a five-year strategic plan with a focus on advancing patient care, building community, and championing excellence. Based in Little Rock, the COO will report to the President and Chief Executive Officer, and will serve as a key member of the organization's senior executive team. This position will be responsible for executing the strategic vision, engaging in long term planning, and providing overall operational accountability for the developing system. The COO will ensure that operations support the organizational mission, goals, and objectives. This person will lead as a strategic partner in a highly service-oriented organization, including in the community, local and state governments, and across the nation with other Children's Hospitals. The role requires a strategic, humble, and empathetic leader capable of executing on the improvement of Patient Experience, Employee Engagement, and Growth. The COO will be instrumental in providing support and guidance in the development of external partnerships within the local community, state and nationwide. The COO will be a driven, innovative leader who can create a vision, and deliver results in a growing and evolving healthcare organization. The ideal candidate will be a confident executive with a track record of success in leadership, and the ability to contribute broadly. The COO will be a strategist and will bring system level thinking while focusing on the mission and direction of Arkansas Children's. The executive will be an effective communicator who is team oriented and can build strong collaborative relationships at all levels to deliver excellent patient, provider and employee experience.
