Laboratory Assistant II Per Diem Nights

Summary

Oversees Front Office functions and ensures appropriate response to all phlebotomy requests during assigned shift. Responsible for all phases of Laboratory specimen collection handling and distribution as well as all supplementary computer functions. Assists in organization and storage of all Laboratory phlebotomy and office consumables. Ensures appropriate report generation/ charting and delivery. Performs and fulfills all HICS (Hospital Incident Command System) responsibilities as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency disaster.

Position Qualifications

Education

Minimum: High school diploma or GED Certificate
Preferred: Formal Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy Training

Experience

Minimum: Six months or more of phlebotomy experience
Preferred: Clinical experience rotation as part of a Phlebotomy training program; One year of hospital or physician�s office-based phlebotomy experience

Required Certification/Licensure/Registration

Minimum: Not required
Preferred: Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy Certification or National Phlebotomy Certification

Other Qualifications

• Computer knowledge/experience
• Excellent customer service skills

Per Diem NIghts, including rotating weekend shifts
