Medical technician for clinical lab with the primary responsibility as phlebotomist; assuring proper techniques are used for specimen collection, patient is accurately identified,specimen correctly/accurately labeled, properly processed & distributed to proper department. When not involved with duties of phlebotomist, the incumbent is responsible for complex procedures in hematology such as CBCs or sedimentation rates, urinalysis such as the dipstick for chemical analysis, Chemistry such as blood glucose, blood urea nitrogen, creatinine, and Microbiology such as culture set-up Performing complex testing under direct supervision. Responsible for assisting the histopathology technician. Duties will be as directed by the Supervisory Medical Technologist.
