This announcement has been amended to reflect the most recent salary range and has been extended. Applicants may update their application through the closing date. This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT in support of COVID-19 operations. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be December 28, 2020 and applicants will be referred on an 'as needed' basis. NOTE: Announcement will remain open until no longer needed but no later than April 30, 2021. The Health Technician will be assigned to interested facilities throughout VHA in support of COVID-19 operations and may be appointed on a permanent basis or temporary basis on an intermittent, part-time, or full-time schedule. Major duties include, but are not limited to: Developing and maintaining a therapeutic, professional helping relationship with clients; Providing orientation to new patients by explaining policies and procedures, treatment expectations and goals, and ensures that all admission requirements are met; Working with a variety of physical, mental, emotional, and behavior problems using different techniques; Processing and evaluating any incident involving the injury or abuse of any patient; Receiving and directing patients and visitors and responding to routine inquiries; Handling appointment requests and appointment changes/cancellations; Performing initial physical examination of patients upon arrival to clinic, to include checking vital signs, pulmonary functions and reason for visit; Filing all medical record information and correspondence in patient records. Work Schedule: A variety of work schedules are available; Work schedule will be determined upon selection. NOTE: May be expected to work rotating weekends and holidays. Pay Schedule: The salary range listed in this announcement is a Base-Line Salary for a full-time work schedule. Starting salary will be set based on locality (which may include a special pay rate depending upon location), as well as FT, PT or Intermittent employment. Recruitment Incentive: Not Available Relocation/PCS Incentive: Not Available Financial Disclosure Report: Not Required NOTE: The salary listed represents full-time employment and will be prorated based on the actual number of hours worked each pay-period. Likewise, employees not working on a full-time basis will have benefits and time-off accrual prorated and based on their work schedule.
