The Health Technician will be assigned to interested facilities throughout VHA in support of COVID-19 operations and may be appointed on a permanent basis or temporary basis on an intermittent, part-time, or full-time schedule. Major duties include, but are not limited to: Developing and maintaining a therapeutic, professional helping relationship with clients; Providing orientation to new patients by explaining policies and procedures, treatment expectations and goals, and ensures that all admission requirements are met; Working with a variety of physical, mental, emotional, and behavior problems using different techniques; Processing and evaluating any incident involving the injury or abuse of any patient; Receiving and directing patients and visitors and responding to routine inquiries; Handling appointment requests and appointment changes/cancellations; Performing initial physical examination of patients upon arrival to clinic, to include checking vital signs, pulmonary functions and reason for visit; Filing all medical record information and correspondence in patient records. Work Schedule: A variety of work schedules are available; Work schedule will be determined upon selection. NOTE: May be expected to work rotating weekends and holidays. Pay Schedule: The salary range listed in this announcement is a Base-Line Salary for a full-time work schedule. Starting salary will be set based on locality (which may include a special pay rate depending upon location), as well as FT, PT or Intermittent employment.
