The Clinical Laboratory Assistant / Lab Assistant performs routine technical and clerical functions to include specimen registration and billing. Performs venipuncture, specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens. The Clinical Laboratory Assistant / Lab Assistant performs phlebotomy duties as assigned. The Clinical Laboratory Assistant / Lab Assistant will perform waived testing and assist in Microbiology processing and pating specimens, as requested.
Qualifications:
Position Qualification: (Training, Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities)
One (1) year of Clinical Laboratory Assistant / Lab Assistant experience and/or completion of a formal phlebotomy training
Basic Clinical Laboratory Assistant / Lab Assistant computer/lab information system experience preferred
Required Licenses/Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent is required for this Clinical Laboratory Assistant / Lab Assistant role Completion of Phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar preferred Phlebotomy Certification where State law requires
