The Medical Instrument Technician (MIT-GI) at this level aids the physicians and nurses with routine and standard procedures, including but not limited to colonoscopy and esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD). The incumbent will have a basic knowledge of medical terminology and common gastrointestinal anatomy. The Medical Instrument Technician (Gastroenterology) serves as a member of the Gastroenterology (GI) Section of Medical Service at the VA Maine Healthcare System. The GI Endoscopy subsection is responsible for providing the full range of clinical procedures related to gastroenterology care. The technician works in and outside of the GI unit, offering technical support during emergent and on-call endoscopic cases. This position requires the individual to rotate through an on-call schedule. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00AM - 4:00PM Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
