Working under the authority of the Medical Director, the Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for obtaining high quality images of the heart and related structures to assist the Cardiologist with the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Registered or registry eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers with a specialty Registration of Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographers (RDCS). If RDCS registry eligible, must receive RDCS certification within 12 months of hire or transfer. Registered with Cardiovascular Credentialing International as Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) may be substituted for RDCS with the expectation of obtaining ARDMS registry within 12 months of hire or transfer. BLS certification required. Must be a graduate of a CAAHEP or CMA approved School of Diagnostic Ultrasound or equivalent amount of on the job training as outlined by ICAEL accreditation requirements. |
