Summary
The Medical Technologist performs moderate complexity and high complexity laboratory testing on clinical specimens (blood, urine, other body fluids and/or tissue). The Medical Technologist works only in those laboratory sections consistent with the employee�s State licensure. Works routinely in Immunohematology and/or Microbiology as licensed. The Medical Technologist participates in training of new staff and of students. Maintains adequate level of supplies to ensure continuity of laboratory activities. The Medical Technologist capable of working without direct supervision. Work customarily involves any testing which may require a high degree of theoretical knowledge and technical expertise in licensed area(s). The Medical Technologist assists students in the specific area for development of technical, clinical and problem solving. Performs additional duties as needed or assigned.
Qualifications:
Position Qualifications
Current Florida License as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Supervisor in Immunohematology and/or Microbiology, singly or combined with Serology, Clinical Chemistry and/or Hematology
Previous experience as a Medical Technologist, preferably in a hospital setting.
