Individuals at this level plan and direct programs at affiliated medical centers and satellite outpatient clinics and have full supervisory responsibility for a large staff of non-supervisory personnel and at least one subordinate team leader or supervisor. These duties include assigning and evaluating the work of subordinate staff resolving problems which may interfere with patient examination or treatment; providing polysomnography technician services in more complex and non-standard cases. The duties of this position are but not limited to: Assigns and valuates the work of subordinate staff. Resolves problems which may interfere with patient examination or treatment. Evaluates performance and provides disciplinary action when necessary. Monitors the work of those providing home sleep testing (portable sleep studies). Evaluates new products and equipment and makes recommendations concerning. Assists quality assurance technologists in performing quality assurance testing. Maintains records of the quality assurance testing so that easy reference is available should servicing be necessary (weekly basis). Participates as an instructor in the facility's clinical training program. Oversees the department scheduler and coordinates patient test schedules.
