What You Will Be Responsible for:
Assisting on various case specialties.
Cleaning instruments and sterilizing as needed.
Aid in transportation of patients as needed
Ordering of instruments and supplies as needed
What You Will Need:
Ability to assist and scrub in on all case specialties
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum six (6) months related to clinical experience
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
Maintains CPR certification

Certified First Assistant
The Certified First Assistant, under direct supervision of the surgeon and the general supervision of the unit nurse manager, assists the operating staff by scrubbing on all types of major and minor surgery procedures. Coordinates scheduling, equipment oversight, infection control and other assigned functions of the surgery unit under the direction of the unit nurse manager. Provides all necessary sterilized items to be used on patient care units.
The First Assistant provides aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other intra operative technical functions that help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient. In addition to intra operative duties, the first assist also performs preoperative and postoperative duties to better facilitate proper patient care.
