You Will Be Responsible For:
Knowledgeable and participates in general departmental operations and able to perform duties in decontamination, disinfection, sterilization and storage processes.
Monitors sterilization logs.
Functions as a resource person for the department(s).
Facilitates the operations of the department by prioritizing workload.
Assists with planning and overseeing the orientation of new employees.
Monitors and tracks the performance improvement indicators. Manages ordering of general supplies.
Tracks and recovers equipment and instruments issued to the Nursing Units.
Assumes role of coordinator when necessary.
What You Will Need:
High School graduate or GED.
CSR or OR experience of at least one year.
Certified Sterile Processing Technician.
Under supervision of the Sterile Processing Nurse Manager, the Sterile Processing Non-Certified Technician will provide thoroughly cleaned, disinfected and/or sterilized instrument trays and equipment. Trays will be accurately assembled according to the established tray list. Works with customers to maintain adequate inventory of trays and to prioritize processing of trays as needed; maintains specialty carts and other supplies per department specific guidelines as well as maintaining equipment per manufacturer’s instructions for use. Responsible for use of all decontamination and sterilization equipment, can troubleshoot minor issues. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Delivers quality process instrumentation and performs Quality Checks..
