The EEG Technician's duties include but are not limited to the following:
Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards;
Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements;
Obtains EEG recordings as prescribed by physician and according to policy. Provides technical interpretation of recording as needed;
Performs evoked potential studies as prescribed by physician and according to policy;
Performs preventive maintenance and safety testing of equipment and reports issues as appropriate;
Maintains departmental records to preserve patient data and enable recall;
Documents patient information in EHR and/or other electronic system in accordance with program standards, department policies/procedures.
Completion of an accredited EEG program or registration by the American Medical Association American Board of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist required.
1 to 2 years of recording experience.
Knowledge of and ability to perform evoked potentials and surgical central nervous system monitoring.
