This position provides assistance of a technical, specialized, or support nature to health and medical personnel in the diagnosis or treatment of patient illnesses or medical conditions. Supports medical and health care processionals in tests and procedures to diagnose and treat medical conditions. Performing technical work in support of diagnostic tests and procedures. Supporting health and medical staff during diagnosis or treatment of patients. Operating and maintaining medical instruments and equipment for diagnostic and treatment procedures. Receiving requests or instructions for procedures and explaining procedures, positioning patients for desired results, and cushions/shields patients as appropriate. Determining technical factors, setting controls and operating equipment and instruments. Scheduling procedures, coordinating with other services. Ordering and maintaining supplies for the unit to include specialized supplies pertaining to instruments used in the unit. Performing a range of diagnostic support duties such as talking, recording and reporting to supervisor deviations in vital signs, pulse oximetry, weights, taking specimens, labeling specimens for the laboratory. Recording results and ensuring that they are made part of the permanent medical record. Performing direct patient support work to include collecting information from patients, providing personal patient care, and educating patients on pre-testing and post procedure activities. Providing clerical and administrative support to the unit. Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm Promotion Potential: This position is at the full performance level.
