Sterile processing is essential to the operation of our hospitals and other medical facilities. We’re working at the frontline of infection prevention to ensure the complete integrity of our instrumentation and equipment. We provide state-of-the-art sterile processing capabilities at all 23 of our hospitals as well as many of our ambulatory centers.
Nine of Northwell’s facilities are moving to the world’s largest sterile processing center in Bethpage, NY. This 50,000 square foot facility will provide 24/7/365 services using the most innovative technology available, including:
• 10 large capacity pass-through steam autoclaves with automated off-loading
• Six low-temperature sterilizers
• 54 height-adjustable prep-n-pack stations
• 14 automatic washer disinfectors with automated loading and off-loading
• Three large capacity carts washers
• Two large capacity container washers
• 14 height adjustable decontamination stations
